Last summer I attended Squam Art Workshops. Of the many things that I took away from that experience, embroidery might be my favorite.
For a long time embroidery was the domain of my sister and like many inter-sibling negotiations it remained unexamined. Though we both learned in Girl Scouts – it was hers.
Luckily our relationship has grown and we are better at sharing. So I signed up for Rebecca Ringquist’s Embroiderd Memories class. I loved it. I love it. Rebecca made learning the basic stitches easy with her embroidered lines sampler and I was off. I spent most of my free time working on this sampler instead of my embroidered memory. I assume that one day soon I’ll be inclined to return to my class work but for now I am really into Rebecca’s samplers.
